Frequently asked questions
How much does switching to LED bulbs save?
A 9 W LED gives the same light as a 60 W incandescent bulb while using 85% less power. Used 3 hours a day, each swap saves about 56 kWh a year, which is $8–$20 depending on your rate. LEDs also last 15,000–25,000 hours versus about 1,000.
What LED wattage replaces a 60 W bulb?
Look for 800 lumens: about 8–9 W for a 60 W equivalent, 1,100 lumens (11–13 W) for 75 W, and 1,600 lumens (14–16 W) for 100 W.
